A beat sheet is the outline of the screenplay about important moments in a scene. Here is my teams and i beat sheet of  case closed

Save the Cat Beat Sheet Narrative Structure

A beat sheet is a precursor to a screenplay outline: it identifies the critical moments in an episode or feature film and lays out what needs to happen in each story's act. The beat sheet identifies the key emotional moments in a story, while the outline expands on those moments with specific scenes, settings, and details.  The goal of creating a beat sheet is to separate your account into acts and move the story through its crucial moments. See video link of a Save the Cat Beat Sheet.

Creating narrative propulsion:

Screenwriters create propulsion by using a technique called a beat. A beat is a moment that propels the story forward and compels the viewer to take stock of what could happen next.

  • Beats can refer to several different kinds of emotional moments or plot points.

  • A scene comprises several different beats and can be subtle, while others are obvious.

  • Each beat can outline moments with specific scenes, settings, and details.

  • In general, feature-length screenplays have roughly 15 major story beats.

You will be responsible for creating ACT I of your beat sheet since it incorporates your film opening. To complete this task, you will be focusing on your film opening situated in ACT I of your story. Act 1 includes the following sections:

  1. The Opening Image. A visual image that represents the central struggle & tone of the story. A snapshot of the main character's problem before the adventure begins. It sets the tone, mood, genre, and Setting of the movie.

  2. Theme-stated/Introduction. What is your Film about? This is the opportunity to show the audience.

  3. Set-Up/statement of the theme One or more beats in which your characters and Setting come into clear focus. Who is the main character? What does she want? What is holding her back from getting it?

The Hook: It is what grabs the viewer's attention. The "hook" is the viewer's question of whether the conflict can be resolved, so a screenwriter might want to test the hook by turning it into a question. One can briefly state a good hook in one or two sentences, introducing the protagonist, the conflict that drives the story, and what the protagonist will achieve with either triumph or defeat.

Define each beat by describing the plot points of the film opening.

Beat 1: The Opening Image

The opening shows the character, Lilith, making her way towards a flight of stairs. She is busy on her phone with her earbuds plugged, unaware of her surroundings. Once she makes it to the top of the stairs she is met with a grim fate and unexpectedly trips and falls down the stairs, leading to a serious injury which causes her to bleed to death.

Beat 2: Theme-stated

The theme being stated is good vs evil, so it is here we see an innocent character dying and later in the film opening another character suspects that the cause of death was not a freak accident but murder.

Beat 3: Set-Up

The death of classmate Liltih Wayne leads kid detective William Morgan to believe that her death was not an accident but a gruesome act of murder.

The Hook

The hook is the death of a character in just the few seconds of the films opening. It sets up the genre of the movie and makes the audience suspect what actually happened and the audience is pretty much figuring out the mystery with the main character, William Morgan.
